Strong currents pass through the area making for challenging yet rewarding dives within a healthy ecosystem which lives off what the currents bring. The main marine attractions here are Manta diving/snorkelling, exceptional coral and reef life, Pelagic fish, Dolphins and Whales. Komodo is also awesome for tiny marine creatures, nudibranch, crabs, Mantis shrimps and Blue Ringed Octopus to name just a few.

  • Komodo trips embark and disembark in KP3 Harbour, Labuan Bajo.
  • Amaya Explorer crew will pick you up at the airport on the D-Day or at the hotel.

The Itinerary

DAY 1

Check In Boat

Begin your adventure by embarking from Labuan Bajo harbour  and boarding the vessel. The cruise leader will brief on boat safety, an overview of the trip, equipment set up and then settle into your accommodations. Upon arrival in Sabolon, you’ll have the opportunity to do a check dive. Before the dive,crew will outline the upcoming dive sites and safety protocols. This dive is designed to refresh your skills and ensure your comfort in the water. You’ll explore a nearby dive site, assessing your gear and diving proficiency. It is recommended to practice safety procedures such as deploying your SMB (Surface Marker Buoy).

DAY 2

North Komodo

Advance dive certification is required to dive in this area. Diving in North Komodo is a world-renowned experience, celebrated for stunning underwater actions. However, swift currents that create thrilling diving conditions makes it exciting.

DAY 3

Central Komodo

Arrival at Kawe and gather for a dive briefing a er breakfast where your dive guide will provide insights on what to expect, including current conditions and safety protocols. As you descend, be prepared for mild to strong currents, which can add an element of challenge and excitement. Look out for schools of fish, sea turtles and other vibrant marine life. Continue the rest of the day diving in drama c underwater topography.

DAY 4

Pyanemo

After breakfast, gather for briefing that outlines today’s dive sites: Melissa Garden, My Reef, Batu Rufas and Galaxy. Melissa Garden is a renowned dive site characterized by an incredible carpet of healthy corals. Be prepared as the other dive sites are as stunning, such as My Reef where there is a high chance to encounter schools of barracuda as they glide through the water and Batu Rufas where you’ll find a striking underwater frame perfect for striking a pose. In the afternoon, switch gears for some exploration on land and embark a short trek to Pyanemo Point famous for stunning overlook of the turquoise lagoon below. Night dive will depend on weather conditions.

DAY 5

Mansuar

For today’s first dive site, Manta Sandy features a shallow channel nestled between sandbanks, where manta rays are frequently seen being cleaned or occasionally feeding. Afterward, we move to the village of Sawandarek, where we typically encounter a sizeable green turtle. Not to men on the shallow reef and the je y with all the fishes. Then we head to Cape Kri, a divesite renowned for one of the most biodiverse loca ons in the world, with stunning coral reef slope and school of fishes. As night falls, we will dive in Saporkren, a sand slope without any reef or no coral. However, you know what to expect in this kind of dive right?

DAY 6

Central

We’ll have an early start as today’s dive is another highlight. Depending on flight schedule, guests are able to opt for 1 dive due to no 24 hours no fly requirement or can participate for 2 dives. Blue Magic, as the name suggests, is like diving into the magic world underwater. School of fishes, sharks, and corals, not to men on the critters you might find lurking on the reef. Get ready for the big prize, oceanic manta ray, might come occasionally cleaning themself above the reef.

For the second dive, Mioskon, is also a mesmerizing dive site with so many fishes swimming around the shallow reef.

After the last dive, crew will help wash and dry scuba equipment while sailing to Mayalibit bay. Arriving at Kali Biru (Blue River) – a small river in the middle of Lush green landscape of Waisai, which is the perfect combination of crystal clear water and the forest scenery. Jump in the blue river and immerse yourself in the soothing water. Sailing to Sorong in the evening.
